WINTER

The change in seasons is a great thing partially because by the end of each season you're ready for the next (especially by the end of winter). What I'm saying is its nice to finally have snow up here, its cold but at least there's snow and its not this cold for no reason. In the near future we're gonna set aside a week or so and record our asses off. The goal is to try and get a new album recorded. We're shooting towards vinyl this time around because we feel that cd's are part of a dying institution. A record is much more personal with bigger and better artwork, and a more rich real quality to the sound. So look out for updates on that come......... spring time??. Also, we're trying to cook up a split 12'' with The Choking Beaver Project/Almonzo's Plow (Great friends; http://www.myspace.com/almonzosplow ), Hello Shark (with whom we were just re-united with; http://www.myspace.com/hellosharkvermont ), Attic Abasement (great friends with Hello Shark and us; http://www.myspace.com/atticabasement ), and Zeke Mishanec (http://www.myspace.com/zekemishanec ). Hopefully we can get everyone together with a fews songs for this project. If you haven't checked out all of these guys yet I strongly suggest you do. So keep an eye out for that also. The winter time should be super productive for us in music, and me in general in the sculpture world too. If you haven't checked out the tour journal posted below please do. CHEERS!

Tour Journal.

Well, better late than never, right? After tour this summer I started writing a journal composed of notes I took in a shitty loose-leaf notebook attached with a binder ring while traveling, and all the pictures I took as well. Just finished it last night. I can't quite figure out how to post it directly on here, but who wants to stare at this blog screen that long anyways? There is a pdf zip file of the journal below. E-mail me (drudisillw@gmail.com) with any downloading issues, or if you want a free physical copy of it. Someday we will get Chase's and Dan's up here as well. Enjoy.

COMBAT PAPER

Hey everyone. This past weekend we were lucky enough to play in a small town outside of Ithaca, New York. A good friend of ours, Nathan Lewis asked us to play a show in a new house he lives in with his veteran friends. Nate is an Iraq war veteran and he and his friends are setting up a veterans sanctuary there. We ate delicious food and had a wonderful show in a great spot. The next day we were brought to the sanctuary's green-houses. Thanks to a former Tilapia farmer who was generous to let them use the land for free, they have access to a lot suitable for farming, equipped with tools and two large green-houses. The sky is the limit for these fella's and they plan to do some great things with this opportunity. We had team of about 12 or so dig a 40 ft long trench along the fence of the future garden.... man-power is great. It was an exciting weekend, it is obvious that great things will come from this project. Nate is very involved in Combat Paper. "The Combat Paper Project utilizes artmaking workshops to assist veterans in reconciling and sharing their personal experiences as well as broadening the traditional narrative surrounding service and the military culture." Check it out here: http://www.combatpaper.org/ . Other than the toilet exploding and pouring into the basement the night couldn't have gone better. Keep an eye on these guys. Thanks to them for a great weekend. On the way home Dan and I saw a large deer resting on the back-hood of a car, unstrapped, on the highway.... just to cap off the trip. CHEERS!

Autumn.

So, it's been a while... A real long while. I've been playing with steel, that's what takes up most of my time. What's new you say? A few shows between then and now. We played at the Monkey House in Winooski, Vt with the Choking Beaver Project. Played a fundraiser/kegger at 10 Bay st. as a benefit to some kids whose house burned down. (great turnout) Slacking in the music world lately. Should be recording, getting tour for the summer figured out, and all that jazz. The leaves are changing, I always forget just how amazing that is. Tour photos up on facebook.. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=286371&id=558189464 .. Still working on that journal write up. Workin on Livin'

So, before we post that tour book I spoke of in that last post, we've got a little somethin that just came in from our buddy Mike who runs the Savage School of rock In Blackwood NJ, Great dude. He and a few buddies run a podcast out of there called Save the World Radio, they're super smart dudes and hit on some important political and global issues. Check it out! Soon enough we're gonna get our photos developed and post those with a nice little write up from our tour journals. So keep an eye out for that, should be soon. For now, check out this awesome band and good friend Mike out of Rochester, NY. (Attic Abasement) You won't regret it. http://www.myspace.com/atticabasement . FUCK Connecticut

Show in Jaffrey New Hampshire was fun, stayed and played at 22b Charlonne with Matt from the band Graph http://www.myspace.com/graphisaband . Great dude. We went swimming in the greatest spot in New Hampshire and then made our way to Boston. Stayed with Alex (friends of Dan's from Prague) in Roxbury. Watched the fireworks from a rooftop, epic. Show fell through... Great time in Boston though. Slowly made our way to Brooklyn (stopping in west haven CT to swim in the dirtiest warmest water ever) Connecticut just plain old sucks. Got a show last minute (literally) at Goodbye Blue Monday in Bed Stuy, good time, even saw some friends from Albany. CHEERS!

I have a friend with WORK HARD tattooed on his knuckles...

SO. We are working hard on booking tour still. Stressing and calming with a beer here and there while trying to do a hundred other things. We've decided against the 7" for now because of time limitations before tour in July. But, that certainly doesn't mean that it won't happen in the future. Instead we are working on recording a cd demo of new songs to hand out while we're on tour. Hand printed and wrapped in a drawing by our own Chase Winkler, most likely. New shirts coming. New stickers. There's a lil jon concert at the Times Union Center tonight....

These are my good friends from school. They fucking rule. They got on a sweet Festival this summer in Ellicottville, NY. JAM.BOREE fest. Party and music in the woods on June 18th to the 20th. Why wouldn't you go? Get tickets at evljamboree2010@gmail.com. Listen to them here: http://www.myspace.com/almonzosplow. Plus next year they live at hell house in Plattsburgh where we can play shows with them a lot. So look forward to that as well. Their shows are always fun. (and you get to hear garth and mike sing together) Plus you can enjoy a nice cigarette with them afterwards and talk about the show, or campfires, or your bowels... or whatever you want.
